Back To School Routine Tips

Tips to remember when starting your morning & after-school routine.

With back-to-school season here, we want to make sure your morning and after-school pick-ups go smoothly.

Morning

If your child will be joining us for breakfast, please drop them off by 7 AM. We want to be sure they have enough time to eat before they board the bus. If they aren’t eating with us, please have them here by 7:30 AM to avoid any last-minute rush.

After School

If your child won’t need to be picked up from school, please call us at (309) 786-0583 to let us know. When we’re not informed, it triggers a process that involves contacting both parents and the school, which can delay our schedule and affect other pick-ups.

We’re so excited for this new school year! Please contact us with any further before and after school transportation questions.

Kindergarten Preparedness

Transitioning from preschool to kindergarten is a huge milestone for children and their families. Our Early Learning Center helps prepare kids for this shift by focusing on building self-care skills, such as bathroom independence and managing personal belongings. Additionally, we’ll introduce a structured routine to mimic the kindergarten environment, making the transition smoother. Also, early literacy and numeracy skills are encouraged through learning activities, laying the foundation for future academic success. By creating a space for independence, routine familiarity, and foundational skills, we help children approach kindergarten with confidence and excitement. Keep Valuables at Home

Parents, we like to send out a friendly reminder to please leave any valuables at home when you drop off your child. A helpful tip is to make it part of your morning routine by setting aside a spot at home for these items or having a separate bag for school supplies only.

When valuables are brought in, they can sometimes get broken, lost, or stolen. We want to assure you we’ve got all the fun and learning activities covered. So, your child will be engaged and entertained throughout the day. We appreciate your help in making this goal possible.

Coming Soon… Fall

Fall Bag Checklist; Sweaters, Pants, Jackets, Hats, and Gloves.

Even though it’s still warm right now, fall is just around the corner. Fall officially begins on September 22nd. The weather can change quickly, so we want to remind parents to start prepping and packing warmer clothes for your child. We will continue to go outside for play and activities, so layering will help keep them comfortable as the temperature begins to drop.

Please consider packing the following items in their school bag:

  • Light jacket
  • Sweaters or long-sleeve shirts
  • Long pants
  • Hat and gloves (for cooler days)

Now they’ll be prepared and can stay warm on the colder days. Contact us with any questions on what else you can do to prepare your child for school this Fall.
