May 2024 E-Blast
Summer Fun
Summer is here and we are so excited! Our “Summer Camp” for children 6 to 12 years old offers a fun and engaging experience with various activities. Kids will enjoy group games, bowling, park visits, art projects, softball, kickball, and numerous community field trips. Additionally, during the summer before Kindergarten, our five-year-olds transition to a separate class to develop essential school readiness skills. We can’t wait to have a blast with the kiddos all summer long!
Meet Lauryn Stegall
We would like to give a huge shout out to one of our Pre-K teachers, Lauryn Stegall! Lauryn has been apart of our team since 2022, and lives in the Quad Cities with her significant other and 3 dogs. When asked about her favorite part about her job, she says, “I adore watching the kids learn and grow every day. I tell everyone how I have 20+ kids, and how rewarding it feels to see our kids pick up what we teach them.” Outside of work, you can catch her volunteering at the local animal shelter, training Rocky’s softball team, fostering adoptable dogs, and spending time with her partner.
Our Teaching Standards
At In A Kid’s World, our curriculum is guided by the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards (IELDS), ensuring children have developmentally appropriate experiences. We tailor activities to each child’s age, character, and passion, creating a personalized learning environment. Our focus is on building key social skills like conflict resolution, empathy, and patience. Parents receive regular updates on their child’s progress across various domains, including Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Science, Physical Development and Health, Fine Arts, and Social/Emotional Development. By following the IELDS, we support each child’s growth and future success.
Be Present
At In A Kid’s World, we value the active involvement of parents in their child’s development. From the moment you enroll your kids, we prioritize building a trusting relationship with you. Our teachers are trained in proper communication with their classroom families, and will keep parents informed of classroom happenings. We invite you to participate in monthly Activity Nights for Pre-K families, volunteer on field trips, and share your expertise with our class. Stay involved, stay present, and make a difference in your child’s educational journey with us.
